What Was Mayor Regalado Doing at The UnderLounge Festival?

Helping the kids toss a few basketballs! The UnderLounge Festival took place on October 15 at the Brickell Backyard portion of the future Underline Linear Park. With the “world’s longest mini-golf hole”, a pop-up dog park, music, fitness, street artists and, of course, the basketball-playing Mayor, the UnderLounge Festival was crowded with curious neighborhood residents. Check out some of the highlights:

This free event was organized by the The Underline Young Professionals Organization to to showcase plans for Miami’s iconic new park. The 10-mile long park will run below Miami’s MetroRail from the Miami River to the Dadeland South Station to “connect communities, improve pedestrian and bicyclist safety, create over a hundred acres of open space with restored natural habitats, encourage a healthy lifestyle, provide an easily accessible place to exercise, create a mobility corridor that integrates transit, car, biking and walking, provide a 10-mile canvas for artistic expression, attract development along US1, and generate significant economic impact.”
