The Village of Pinecrest, in partnership with Y-Grene, is hosting a video contest open to all Miami-Dade County school students, grades 4 through 12. The contest challenges students to create “a short video, 1-3 minutes in length, which identifies and explains one of the 7 types of environmental pollution:”
- Air Pollution
- Water Pollution
- Noise Pollution
- Thermal Pollution
- Light Pollution
- Land Pollution
- Visual Pollution
Each video should also demonstrate a proposed solution (or solutions) for the pollution issue chosen. Winners will be awarded $300 plus another $1,000 for their school.
The Pollution Solutions Video Contest opened last Monday, February 2, and all entries must be submitted no later than April 2. Finalists will present their video on Sunday, April 19, 2015 at the Pinecrest Gardens Earth Day Event.
