How to Keep Your Miami Recycling Cart Happy

Miami-Dade County has given us this bit of silliness to help educate Miami-Dade residents about what can and cannot be recycled in our county’s curbside recycling program.

Recycling carts are fed up with being fed the wrong things… find out how to Keep Your Cart Happy!

Miami-Dade County provides curbside recycling services to residents in the unincorporated areas of the County and residents in these 20 municipalities: Aventura, Cutler Bay, Doral, El Portal, Florida City, Medley, Miami Beach, Miami Gardens, Miami Lakes, Miami Springs, North Bay Village, North Miami Beach, Opa-locka, Palmetto Bay, Pinecrest, South Miami, Sunny Isles Beach, Surfside, Virginia Gardens and West Miami.

The curbside program in Miami-Dade County is “single-stream recycling”, meaning that residents do not have to separate the recyclable materials by type. Each house is provides with one 65-gallon wheeled cart, and recyclables are picked up every other week. For more information about the Miami-Dade County recycling program, pick-up dates or to order extra carts, visit MiamiDade.gov’s Residential Recycling page

Not down there, but do they mean garbage bags or any bags? We use the few plastic grocery bags that come into the house for holding recycling until it can be taken down to the bin.

No plastic bags at all. Those are recycled separately
